The artist Constable made the local area well-known in his paintings of the countryside.

Directions to the Farm

Boxted is near Colchester, Essex in the UK.

The farm is half way down Boxted Straight Road, on the junction with Queens Head Road - check out this map for further details.

From Colchester North Station: follow signs for the A134 towards Sudbury for about 1 mile; at the mini-roundabout, take the turning to Boxted; continue straight for 2 miles, and the farm is well sign-posted on your left.

From the A12: At the A12/A120 junction, take the A1232 Ipswich Road towards Colchester; turn right at first traffic lights by the car show-rooms; go straight ahead over the mini-roundabouts until the road ends finally at a T-junction with Boxted Straight Road; turn right, and the farm is well sign-posted on your left.
